Uninstall Cue

Remove Cue and its shell integration from your Mac.

Remove Cue

  1. Open ~/.zshrc and remove the line that sources Cue:

    source "$(brew --prefix)/opt/cue/share/cue/zsh/cue.zsh"
  2. If Cue is running, open Activity Monitor, select Cue, click the stop button, and choose Quit.

  3. Uninstall the app:

    brew uninstall 8starlabs/cue/cue

Open a new Terminal window or VS Code integrated terminal after removing the startup line. You can also remove Cue from System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility.

Remove the Homebrew tap (optional)

The tap is Homebrew's local checkout of Cue's GitHub repository. It contains the formula Homebrew uses to install Cue. Removing the tap only removes this local copy; it does not delete the GitHub repository.

If you do not plan to install Cue again, remove the tap after uninstalling Cue:

brew untap 8starlabs/cue

See Install Cue to reinstall Cue, or Update Cue to upgrade it.
